Bábá is asking in Hindi here – Where is Shraddhanandaji, whether to speak in English, Yes in English.

Eka eva Suhrda Dharma nidhane apyanutatiyah”-

Dharma is the only “Suhrda” is the only “friend”, that remains with you even after your death.

Now you see in Saḿskrta, there are several terms for English word “friend”, Friend.

Atyágo sahano Bandhu

Sadaevánumata Suhrda

Ekaḿ kriyaḿ bhaven Mitram

Samapráńah Sakhá smrtah.

Atyágo sahano Bandhu” – the man who cannot tolerate separation, the tie of love is so much, that he cannot tolerate any separation is called “Bandhu”. The tie is called “Bandhanam” in Saḿskrta and the tie is so strong that he cannot remain away from you, he cannot tolerate your separation is “Bandhu”.

You see in this world, anybody and everybody can tolerate your separation.

When you die your mother, father, brother, sister, will,..what they’ll do, for a few days they will shed tears.

They will cry aloud, but after two or three days, normalcy will again come back. They will be again doing there normal mundane duties.

And after a few days or a few months, they will forget you, they will forget you.

And in societies, where widow marriage is accepted by the people.

In India, in upper-class Hindu society, widow’s cannot marry, but in major portion of the world, and even in India, by others, widow’s can marry.

So your wife, will marry a second marriage, and so you cannot say that he or she is your “Bandhu”.

Nobody is your “Bandhu”, nobody is your “friend”, in that respect.

If you are the only son of your parents, what you’ll do, as for usuage of India, parents will adopt another child .. {Beta Nai Hai tho …in Hindi.}..

Nobody is “Bandhu”, then who is the “Bandhu”.

Why the term is there?

Jagat Bandhu is the only “Bandhu”.

That is, Parama Puruśa is the only “Bandhu”.

HE loves you. HE loved you in the past;and HE will be loving you in future.

HE is the only “Bandhu” and the name of that Bandhu is Jaga-Bandhu, “Jagat-Bandhu”.

Then the second “parya vacaka” word is “Suhrda”.

Suhrda” means “Sadaevánumatam Suhrda”.

With whom there was never, or there is no difference of opinion.

Now you see, in worldly sphere, always there is difference of opinion with father, with mother, with wife, with husband, with children.

But in case of Parama Puruśa. HE dittos what you do, HE goes on dittoing, goes on dittoing. Then why HE is going on dittoing.

A friend should not ditto your everything.

HE should say, you should do this, you should not do this. Then, then HE is not a true friend.

No, in physical sphere, HE says nothing.

In psychic sphere, HE gives you proper guidelines through your Conscience.

So because in physical sphere, HE says nothing directly; that’s why HE is Suhrda even for a bad man and for good man, HE is always a Suhrda.

So, considered, if considered, in this way or in this style, HE is the only “Suhrda”, nobody else can be treated as “Suhrda”.

Here it has been said, `Eka eva Suhrda Dharma nidhane apyanuyatiyah’ –

Dharma is the only “Suhrda” that remains with you even after your “nidhan” even after your death.

When a man dies, what does happen, his friends carry him up to the cremation ground.

And after burning your body, when it is rendered to ashes. What do they do?

They spray some water, on the ashes of your funeral pyre and go back to their homes.

Till there within the corner of the cremation ground, they remember you. After that they forget you.

But this Dharma, Dharma remains with you and what you did in this world for Dharma, is never forgotten by Dharma.

In the worldly life, you are to strengthen your Dharma, you have to strengthen the hands of your Dharma, and in the other world, Dharma strengthens your position.

Eka eva Suhrda Dharma nidhane…..

So for Intellectual people, so for Intelligent person, it is the duty to strengthen the hands of Dharma.

If you strengthen your friends, your friends will also be in a position to help you in case of dire necessities.

Ekaḿ kriyaḿ bhaven Mitram”, and when the nature of duty is the same.

Suppose two pleaders, two physicians, two businessmen, they are all “Mitram” because the nature of duties is the same.

Two thieves they are also “Mitram”.

In Sam’skrta, the word “Mitra”, when used in masculine gender, it means ‘the sun’ and when used in neuter gender it means the `colleague’.

In neuter gender the term is “Mitram” and in masculine gender the term is “Mitra”.

Mitra” means “Sun”, and “Mitram” is “Colleague”.. “colleague”.

Ekaḿ kriyaḿ bhaven Mitram”

The English term for “Mitram” is “Colleague”.

Samapra’n'ah Sakhá smrta”.

In case of “Sakhá” , “the tie …. may not use the tie”… the position is that as if there are two physical bodies, but one mental body, the love is so much, that as if those two persons have got two physical bodies, but one mental body. So much love and its called Sakhá.

So nobody other than Parama Puruśa can be treated as “Sakhá”.

Krśńa was the Sakhá of Arjuna.

So in this world, amongst these four kinds of friends — Bandhu, Suhrda and Sakhá, you cannot get in this Physical world.

That is Parama Puruśa is the only Bandhu, only Suhrda, and only Sakhá . You can get only Mitram, that is colleague in this Physical world.

So what ever term you may use for HIM -Bandhu, or Suhrda, or Sakhá , HE is your everything and You cannot be without HIM.

Your position, your relationship with Parama Puruśa is just like the relationship between fish and water.

So it will be futile for a human being to forget HIM; try to remember HIM always and this remembering HIM always, in all spheres, in all arenas, in all strata of life, is called `Dhruvásmrti’.

Not to forgot HIM even for a single moment.

You, by dint of your Sádhaná’, you should develop your “Dhruvásmrti” and be with HIM for the Infinite time and be one with HIM.
