WHO IS THE OBJECT OF IDEATION OF A DEVOTEE?{purely Original Hindi Discourse}

19 November 1978 DMC, New Delhi, INDIA

This discourse was in Hindi and i transliterated with my best capacity in English below, if any content is not understandable, sorry for the inconvenience.

The subject of today’s discourse is “Who is the Object of Ideation of a Devotee.”

Any Personal entity or the rudimental Impersonal factor?

An Impersonal entity is only a Philosophical concept.

A Jiṋáni comprehends that there is such an Impersonal entity that exist in Philosophical knowledge and he has his own estimation.

And because it is an impersonal entity, it will be very difficult to find out the knowledge of that Impersonal Nucleus; Nucleus here means the way to search the Praná kendra of Impersonal Entity which becomes impossible.

The reason for not finding the search of Prańákendra is because where to go and how to find cannot be understood by man.

Yes man still considers the existence of that Impersonal Entity.

That impersonal entity’s Prańákendra is more a theoretical concept than in a practical life.

Generally, man comes to this world for a very short period utmost 100 to 125 years only.

Within this short span of time, if one searches tirelessly beyond that Prańákendra of that Impersonal Entity with one’s intellect, knowledge, intuition etc still then there is no time in hand.

Here it is said in scriptures that, “Grhiitvaeva kesheśu mrtyurńá Dharmácaret” – during this practice of Dharmacaran one should think that Yamaraja(God of death) has already started pulling one’s hair and one has to leave the body but there is no time now. With this spirit one should work sincerely and vigorously.

Within this short span one must to do as many great noble deeds.

If the whole lifetime is spent on philosophical discussions about the impersonal entity, then how can any noble work be done?

During this short period, one must do lot of Noble work.

Secondly you know that, when does man actually pursue or man starts searching behind many Philosophies?

Plant life – Trees and plants, other creatures and animals does actions through the help of inborn instincts and natural instincts(sahajavrtti).

Man too has these natural inborn instincts but along with these there is yet another factor and what it is? Urge for the Great, Attraction of the Great(Brhat).

Because of this Attraction of the Great they doesn’t feel attracted for an Impersonal Entity.

Man understands feelings, attachment and love. Man understands attraction.

Man understands who is calling and who loves and who is attracting for the proper progress and proper welfare. Even the simple man can also understand such attraction.

For this there is no need of knowing how to write and read.

Saint Kabir did not know how to read and write nor did Rámakrśńa Paramahaḿsa did not know how to read and write.

Your interest, your self interest, your future what do you understand about future, How much intellect do you have?

You have only a small cranium in your head, and in that cranium there is a little brain. With that brain how far can you think?

When you are confronted with a great problem, your brain fails to think, such is the capacity of your strength.

So you need not have to think, whatever is needed HE does the duty always? What is your work is that by doing your Sádhaná to come nearer and still nearer to HIM and by dint of your sádhaná finally to sit upon HIS lap and become one.

Don’t go into the Philosophical net but always be dutiful and thereby you are sure to attain supreme blessedness.

You will be establish both in this life and in the life beyond once for all.

Let HIM do HIS duty and you go on keep doing yours.
