BÁBÁ TREATED IN RANCHI – Supreme Guide (Jan-Feb 1983)

The following is a press-release issued by Ac Ramananda Avt., PA to SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI concering the treatment of HIS ailments resulting from the poisoning while  BÁBÁ was in Bankipore Central Jail, Patna.

Shrii P.R.Sarkar alias SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI was lodged in Bankipore Central Jail, Patna on the 29th December 1971 on a false and fabricated case which ultimately was found untrue and concocted by the Hon’ble Court of Patna. While in Jail, HE was confined in a cell and was denied even the bare minimum necessities of life.

While lodged in Bankipore Central Jail, on the 12th February, 1973, SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI was administered some poisonous tablets by the then Jail Doctor.

SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI took those pills in good faith and became senseless within a few minutes.

The effect of the poisonous medicine adversely affected BÁBÁ’s daily routine (ie., while HE normally woke up daily at 3:20 A.M for spiritual practices, the poisonous medicine kept BÁBÁ asleep until 7 A.M on the following day).

The poisonous medicine brought pain in Bábá’s eyes and head, profuse watering from BÁBÁ’s eyes with redness and irritation.

Bábá had blood discharging, abdominal pain, general weakness and restlessness amidst other complications.

SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI knew for certain that it was a case of poisoning deliberately done to take away with HIS life, and quite reasonably HE demanded a judicial enquiry into the matter.

When the Government did not consider BÁBÁ’s genuine demand, Bábá went on fast with effect from 1-4-1973 in protest, and continued the fast for a long five years four months and two days having only two cups of “ghole”(curd-water) per day.

When the Government did not agree, rather, did not have the courage to order a Judical Enquiry, an independent Judicial Commission was set up with Shrii Amar Chakravarty, Retired Judge of Calcutta High Court, on the Chair.

After perusal of the circumstances and evidence given by various sections of the society, the Chakravarty Commission came to the conclusion that the administration of the poisonous medicines by the then jail doctor was nothing but an act of deliberate poisoning.

The poisoning made Beloved Bábá diabetic, affected HIS general health, and badly affected HIS eye-sight, teeth, and digestive functions.

Only after Bábá’s release from Bankipore Central Jail, on being acquitted by the Hon’ble High Court of the false and fabricated case, could HIS ailments be properly cared for.

Bábá became a patient of indigestion and dysentery while in Jail which took a chronic shape due to long lack of care and proper treatment.

It is a matter of great relief that during BÁBÁ’s recent stay at Ranchi both the eyes of SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI were successfully operated on for cataracts by the eminent Eye Surgeon, Dr. P.C. Gupta, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Rajendra Medical College, Ranchi.

During the stay of SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI, Dr. R.K. Choudhury, an eminent Dental Surgeon of Ranchi extracted HIS teeth and gave final dentures.

We are very grateful to both Dr. P.C. Gupta and Dr. R.K. Choudhury for taking great pain and immense care and sparing their valuable time in treating the ailments caused to SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI by poisoning while in jail.

The Devotees of Ánanda Marga in different countries of the world requested Beloved Bábá to get the eye-operation done in their countries, but SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI preferred to get it done in INDIA itself.
