Now whenever or wherever there is an endeavor to do something or to acquire something physical or psychic or even spiritual, success is not in easy proximity. That is proximity to success is not very easy.

For this three fundamental points are to be carefully remembered.

First point is, What is the minimum requirement for such an aspirant.

The minimum requirement has as been defined by Shiva is, the aspirant must have a human structure. He must be a human being, this is the minimum qualification.

And second things is, he should know the seven secrets of success.

What are those seven secrets of success?

In response, to a question of Párvatii, Párvatii was Shiva’s spouse. Shiva said,

Phaliśyatiiti vishvása siddherprathama lakśańam,

Dvitiiyaḿ shraddhayá yuktam trtiiyaḿ gurupújanam.

Caturtho samatábhávo paiṋcamendriya nigrahah

Saśthaiṋca pramitáháro saptamam naeva vidyate.

In a discourse at Patna, I have already defined this things and you may go through those discourses.

Now, as a course of action, that is what’s the, what should be the proper avenue?

You see, if one knows the Goal properly, or even if the desideratum is properly defined, even in that case, for want of proper avenue, that is proper approach, one fails to come near the Goal, near the culminating point.

Regarding this thing, it has been said, that this avenue should be, that is, this course of action should be “Prańipátena, Pariprashnena and Sevaya”.

That is one must be fully acquainted with the actional side of Prańipáta, Pariprashna and Seva.

What is Prańipáta?

The root is Saḿskrta prefix “Pra”, then Saḿskrta prefix “ni”, then Saḿskrta root verb “pat” then Saḿskrta suffix “ghaiṋ”Prańipáta , that is Complete surrender. One has to surrender completely, where at the altar of one’s desideratum, one’s culminating point, one’s terminating Entity.

And the second thing is, Pariprashnena.

That is, Pariprashna, Pariprashna means where you see sometimes, people ask some questions, just to know something, sometimes just to examine the depth of knowledge of the answering party and sometimes to know something with the only intention of doing accordingly.

Here Pariprashna means, to know something to do accordingly, that is the question is placed before the person in order to get a suitable reply and with that reply, I will move accordingly. This is called Pariprashna.

And the third item is Sevayá. By rendering selfless service, to whom?

To the suffering Humanity, ascribing Náráyańahood or ascribing Brahmahood to the served party, that is by rendering Service to the Party, I am not doing something Good or Great, rather I am thankful to the served Party because they have given me the chance to serve him.

This should be the motive.

So one must remember that this actional side of success, and What is this actional side of Success?

That one must resort to this three fundamental points of Prańipáta, Pariprashna and Sevá.
